Super Hydrophobic
A surface becomes superhydrophobic if a water droplet forms beads with a contact angle greater than 150°. Such surfaces repel water, making it difficult to wet as water runs off the surface.
This phenomenon, known as the ‘lotus effect,’ is observed in nature on lotus leaves, duck feathers, and butterfly wings.
Mineral surfaces, like roof tiles treated with Ecoshieldcoating Water Repellent, exhibit the same water-repellent behavior, causing water to form droplets and slide off without penetrating the surface.
