Upon application, the exterior wall coating creates a waterproof, superhydrophobic surface known as the ‘lotus effect,’ similar to the lotus leaf’s water-repelling properties. Coated mineral surfaces repel water, causing it to form beads and run off without absorption.
Independent tests show a 93.4% reduction in water absorption, meeting the British standard for water vapor resistance (BS EN ISO 7783:2011). UKAS-accredited tests confirm thermal performance benefits and compliance with EAD 040083-00-0404.
In hygrothermal chamber testing, walls treated with the coating and subjected to heat-rain conditions showed reduced heat loss compared to uncoated walls. Uncoated walls experienced an average increase of 6⁰C in heat loss.
Additionally, the wall coating enhances thermal efficiency, reducing energy consumption and bills by keeping walls dry. Damp walls act as thermal bridges, causing heat to transfer from the inside out twice as quickly as dry walls.
